Urgent Site Clearance at Knights Hill Roundabout for Barrett Homes

Client:
Location:
Challenge:
Barrett Homes (via a local landscaping firm)
Knights Hill Roundabout, King’s Lynn
A development project site at Knights Hill Roundabout needed to be cleared urgently. This enablement project was passed to us via a local landscaping firm. Many trees, hedges, brambles, and scrub needed to be removed adjacent to a highspeed road, to allow for construction to begin. With bird nesting season looming in two weeks, our client required an immediate turnaround.
Solution:
- A comprehensive site survey was conducted to assess the scope of the clearance and identify any potential challenges.
- Large machinery, including articulated lorries and excavators, was employed to remove the trees and hedges efficiently.
- The waste material was removed from the site, the brambles and scrub were mulched, and the spoil was left in situ. The resulting biomass sale was offset against the cost of the work, reducing the client’s cost. .
- To accommodate the large machinery, unrestricted access through the main gate off A148 was required for the duration of the works.
- A 2-phase traffic management system was implemented, with all permits and manned signals operating daily from 9:00 to 15:30 on Grimston Road, to ensure the safety of both the work crew and road users.
Outcome:
- The site was cleared quickly and efficiently, meeting the urgent deadline set by the client.
